Gratitute list

We invite students to first make a list of things that are okay - a few examples might be their elbows, chair, best friend. Then we invite students to explore things they are truly grateful for. This activity demonstrates how you can gently move from one emotional state to another simply by changing what you are thinking about.

This SEL activity is based on research that shows when people feel and express gratitude, they experience more positive affect and less negative affect. This can aid in learning and decision-making. Read more about a study on gratitude here.
