Safe space

In this SEL activity, we invite students to visualize and imaginatively occupy a safe space of their own creation. We ask them what sounds they hear, what it smells like, what surrounds them, and how they feel there.

This provides students the opportunity to move away from some of the stress they have in their lives and get a break. This intervention is frequently used in clinical settings with therapists and creates a sense of safety and security for the student.
